St Joseph’s College emerges as overall winner of 6th CoMFIESTA

Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama emerged the overall winner of the 6th CoMFIESTA, an inter-institutional Commerce & Management Fest organized by the Department of Commerce & Management, Tetso College. 

The host college in a press release stated that the two-day event which culminated on October 23 is held annually to promote the true spirit of the subject and to test the mental and artistic ability of students from all over the country. It witnessed the participation of over 250 students from 12 institutes from Nagaland and Assam, namely SD Jain Girls’ College, St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, C-Edge College, City College of Arts and Commerce, Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur Government College, Mt Mary College, Lumding College (Assam), Unity College of Arts and Commerce, Delhi Public School, Carmel Higher Secondary School, Christian Higher Secondary School and Tetso College.

Based on the tagline ‘Where Talent Meets’, CoMFIESTA ’21 was a convergence of performers and participants to compete in events such as ‘I Can Speak, Contrakeenos, Vid’Gyapan, CoMFIESTA’s GOT TALENT, Food Crafting and AD-Selfie.’

During the inaugural programme, welcome address was delivered by Dr Hewasa L Khing, Principal, Tetso College. Dr Hewasa mentioned how CoMFIESTA acts as a platform for experiential learning that helps students learn through creative, exciting, innovative ways and concluded by wishing all participants the very best. This was followed by a welcome song by Sieke Ngouri and Temjensunep Longchar of BBA 1st Semester, Tetso College. 

The keynote address was delivered by Prof AK Mishra, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University. He extended his appreciation for the initiative taken by the Department to organize CoMFIESTA 2021 and felt that such events would facilitate the positive spirit of competition among the students. Prof Mishra also expressed how colleges and disciplines such as commerce and management should now place more emphasis on skill and entrepreneurship development, creation of world class business leaders who are able to create sustainable businesses.

In the events category, Sushant Jain and Sakshi Jain (Delhi Public School, Dimapur) were the winners of Contrakeenos while Renuka Debnath and Bikee Dutta (Unity College, Dimapur) bagged second. In Food Crafting, Sotile Magh (St Joseph's College) was declared the winner and in AD-Selfie, Lipokyanger (St Joseph’s College) won first position. In CoMFIESTA's Got Talent, Ujala Dey (Pranabananda Women's College) was the winner while the runners-up were Sriti Dey and Nandini Dey (SD Jain Girls' College). In I Can Speak, Vanshika Singharia Agarwal (Delhi Public School, Dimapur) was adjudged the winner while Ankita Bhadra (Lumding College, Assam) bagged the second position. In Vid' Gyapan, St Joseph's College were the winners while Tetso College were the runners-up.
