St. Mary’s Church, Diezephe celebrates silver jubilee

Kohima, November 12 (MExN): The Catholic community of St. Mary’s Church, Diezephe celebrated the silver jubilee of the church on November 12 in the church premise. It was graced by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, the bishop of Kohima as the main celebrant with number of priests, sisters, brothers, church leaders and faithful of St. Joseph’s Parish present for the Holy Eucharist.  

Bishop James in his introduction congratulated the Parish Priest, Assistant Priest and all the members of St. Mary’s Church for faithfully journeying the faith walk. He expressed appreciation and gratitude to late Vikeduolhou Vincent and family for the generous and selfless contribution towards the growth of the church, said a press release.  

In his homily, Bishop James recalled the initial faith journey of the community and remembered with thanks giving the pioneering pillars of the church. Jubilee, he stated, is a time to thank the Lord for the past blessing, to live the present with passion and to live the future with hope. He further pointed out that it is a time for re-dedication and renewal. He exhorted the faithful to live life of faithfulness and dedication.  

Later, the Jubilee Memorial monolith was blessed by Bishop James and unveiled by Kikruselie Ambrose Pienyü, brother of late Vincent.  

The release informed that the jubilee celebration was hosted by the family of late Vikeduolhou Vincent.
