Grandparent’s Day was celebrated in St Thomas Church at Tuensang on July 26.
Tuensang, July 26 (MExN): Grandparent’s Day was celebrated in St Thomas Church at Tuensang on July 26. Large number of people assembled for the Sunday service and prayed for their grandparents.
Rev Fr C Joseph, Counsellor of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama officiated the programme. The event started with the Holy Eucharistic celebration which had scripture Readings from the first Book of Kings (3; 5, 7-12) Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (8:28-30) Gospel according to Mathew (13:44-52). Fr Joseph exulted the grandparents as our first storytellers, best friends, our most patient listeners.
The CYA of Tuensang took at most care to arrange the day with gifts and refreshments for the grandparents and elderly. Asang Sheba, the President of CWA Tuensang chaired the felicitation Program. Special numbers, Skits and speeches entertained the parents and the participants. The day celebration came to an end with a Blessing of Long Life.
