The play ground being prepared for the PDSA meet at Thenyizu village.
Kohima, March 22 (MExN): The stage is all set for 36th meet cum 1st Naga style category wrestling meet of Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) from March 23 at Thenyizu village.
With Chokri Area Games & Sports Association (CAGSA) as the host, the meet will continue till March 27.
The inaugural function will witness the presence of deputy chief minister Y. Patton as the special guest and planning & coordination, land revenue and parliamentary affairs minister Neiba Kronu as the guest of honour. The inaugural function will start from 9:00 AM onwards.
Naga-style category wrestling (Men) under 65 kg; below 74 kg and 86 kg will be held after inaugural function.
Besides football, basketball and volleyball both for men and women, the meet will also feature track events both for men and women - 100 metre dash, 200 metre sprint, 400 metre race, 800 metre race, 1500 metre race, 4x100 metre relay race, 3000 metre race (Women) and 5000 metre race (Men). Field events- Discuss throw, Javelin Throw, Shot put, Long Jump, High Jump, triple jump and arm wrestling.
The jury board of the meet will be Nezosa Tetseo president PDSA, Hukhoneyi Soho president PDAA and Colo Mero, president FAPD.
Hukhonieyi Soho will assist the athletic events as chief referee. Vesurayi Venuh will be chief referee for football, Tsibu Khesoh for volleyball, Surhoneyi Soho for basketball and Vekhriyi Chuzho for wrestling.
