State govt. to sponsor 100 Cosyne students

DIMAPUR: The Government of Nagaland has agreed to provide financial assistance to 100 prospective students to undergo Professional Job training at Cosyne Career Institute, Dimapur for a period of one year. A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the department of Information Technology and Technical Education (ITTE), Government of Nagaland and Cosyne Career Institute on August 6. The signatories to the MoU included SC Deorani, Principal Secretary of ITTE and the Managing Director of Cosyne, Imna Imchen. This is being made possible through the initiative of State Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to provide professional job training to the youth. “Our Chief Minister has taken another bold step towards youth empowerment. This program will definitely equip our youth for the best jobs in the world,” said Imchen.

The total cost of the training is placed at Rs.47, 000 per candidate out of which the government has concurred to sponsor Rs.35, 000 from the Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund for Youth Empowerment. The remaining amount of Rs.12, 000 will have to be borne by the selected candidates.

It may be mentioned that the program curricular of the establishment has been designed by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and approved by the American Council of Education (ACE) and Microsoft. Cosyne further assures candidates placements after the successful completion of training and certification.
