Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The State Handloom Expo held at Urban Haat, under Dimapur district, from August 17-30 was inaugurated by Abhijit Kumar DEB, Managing Director, Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd., Dimapur.
NHHDC Ltd. Managing Director Zakabo V Rotokha in a press release stated that all together there are 60 participants from Assam, Manipur, and from the various districts of the home state, Nagaland, exhibiting varieties of handloom products.
The main aim and objective of the exhibition is to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring about linkage between the two in a holistic and integrated manner. It is also serves to provide marketing opportunities to handloom workers with special focus on talented and uncovered weavers, he added.
The State Handloom Expo is being organized by the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation and sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom) Ministry of Textiles.
