State Level Advisory Body for advising municipal authorities constituted

Kohima, June 2 (DIPR): The Governor of Nagaland has constituted a State Level Advisory Body (SLAB) for advising the Municipal Authorities for implementation of 'Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.'  

The Composition of the State Level Advisory Board (SLAB) includes Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Development Department as Chairperson, Ex-Officio; Member, Ex-Officio- one representative of Rural Development Department not below the rank of Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland; one representative of Finance Department (Revenue Branch), Government of Nagaland; One representative from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; one representative from Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India; one representative from Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India; one representative from the Central Pollution Control Board; one representative from the State Pollution Control Board or Pollution Control Committee; one representative from National Institute of Technology, Nagaland.  

The members comprise: Director, Urban Development, Nagaland; three representatives from the local bodies by rotation; two representatives from Census Towns or Urban agglomerations by rotation; one representative from reputed Non-Governmental Organisation or Civil Society working for the waste pickers or informal recycler or solid waste management; one representative from a body representing Industries at the State or Central level; one representative from Waste Recycling Industry; two subject Experts; one representative each from Agriculture Department and Labour & Employment Department, Government of Nagaland.
