A state level tribal painting competition for tribal students as part of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas 2023 took place today at DUDA conference hall, Kohima.

Addressing the participants, Tribal Affairs Department Joint Secretary Hito Sema said that Jan Yatiya Gaurav Divas is being celebrated from November 15 to remember the contribution of tribal freedom fighters.

November 15 is the birthday of the great tribal warrior Birsa Munda.

The programme was moderated by Imsumeren, project officer while Pauloi presented a special number.

Shilula T from Government Higher Secondary School, Thangjam, Tuensang bagged the first position while Anguvika Kinimi of Cannan Christian Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung and Ruyivelu Phesao from Christian Mission Higher Secondary School, Diphupar Chümoukedima stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively. This event was organized by Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Department of Tribal affairs, Government of Nagaland.
