KOHIMA, JULY 20 (MExN): The 14th edition of the State-level Catch Them Young Tournament (Taekwondo) got underway at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima on July 20. Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung graced the opening programme as the special guest.

In his speech, Yimkhiung said, “Today is your time. If not today, then when? If not us, then whom do we wait for?” He extended appreciation to the Department of Youth Resources & Sports for initiating the programme. He added that the department is doing its best to groom youths in every possible way to help them achieve their dreams and bring recognition not only to themselves but also to the state and the country.

Yimkhiung added that the young participants should remember that “competition is not only about winning in the arena but also about winning the hearts of others through discipline and the love for the profession.” He further shared insights about life struggles in all aspects and urged them to be wise in time management. He encouraged them to give their best to shape a better future and make the most of the opportunities before them.

Tenloi Phom administered the oath to the participants while Commissioner & Secretary, YR&S, Wezope Kenye chaired the programme.
