Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho inaugurated the new Lorin Hall at Tetso College in Dimapur on February 20.
Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): A state-of-the-art auditorium christened Lorin Hall (in memory of its late founder Dr PS Lorin) was inaugurated on Monday at Tetso College by Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC).
The opening programme kicked off with the unveiling of the building plaque and a dedicatory prayer by Rev Keyho, followed by the processional and watering of the ‘Tree of Excellence’ by the various school heads.
Addressing the dignitaries and student congregation, Rev Keyho remembered the late founder PS Lorin and the humble beginnings of the college, taking his life as an example of God’s faithfulness. As a man of service who persevered, Dr Lorin embodied the idea that our Christian faith demands deeds and not just words, and that we have to take ‘risks in life to achieve something,’ he said, according to a press release received here today.
Rev Keyho exhorted the students stating that we are made for a purpose and to fulfill a purpose given by God. “We are beautiful in our own way, and that we are brought here by the will of God,” the release quoted him as saying.
Earlier, a piano instrumental was played by Christine Tsela, BA 2nd Semester, English Honours while Kvulo Lorin, Director, Tetso College, presented a brief overview on the conceptualization and materialization of the building in his commencement speech.
The College Anthem - Strive for Excellence - was also launched during the programme in a special performance by Tetso Choir with the composer Nise Meruno, acclaimed pianist and Yamaha artist.
The 450+ seater multipurpose auditorium, complete with state of the art SMD Full Color Concert Stage LED Screen Panel, audio, lighting, and air-conditioned seating will cater to large meetings, talk shows, presentations, and performances of the college, the release stated.
