
NSDMA requests public not to panic

The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department will be conducting the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx), a state-wide mega mock exercise on November 2.
Johnny Ruangmei, Joint Chief Executive Officer of NSDMA informed that the exercise will be conducted on an earthquake scenario with a magnitude of 7.1 on the Richter scale.
This exercise is being carried out to test the capability of the state in responding and also managing any disaster, he said.
In Kohima, a siren bell will be sounded from PHQ at 9:03 AM.
Further sirens will also be used by emergency vehicles participating in the drill.
In this regard, the public have been requested not to panic but cooperate for smooth conduct of the exercise.
In Kohima, the sites for the mega mock exercise, will includes Kohima Trade Centre, Circuit House (Administrative quarters), Khedi Baptist School, Ruzhukhrie Govt Higher Secondary School (district staging area) and Secretariat Plaza.
The mock drill will go on till 1:30 PM.
