
Kohima, November 10 (MExN): A Statistical Research Centre at the new building of Kohima Science College was inaugurated by Dr Temjenwabang, Principal, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma on October 31.
Md Jakir Ali, Head, Department of Statistics in his welcome address gave a brief outline about the purpose of opening the research centre which “is first of its kind in the state,” a DIPR report stated.
He told in recent years the subject statistics is gaining importance and is very much essential to formulate a proper economic, agricultural and industrial policy for all round development of a state in particular and country in general.
Dr Temjenwabang while opening the centre said that an up-to-date and accurate data collection and proper statistical analysis using statistical software will immensely benefit various government departments by giving technical support to them as well research scholar and other voluntary organization of the state. He advised and invited all the research scholars to take full advantage of the research centre.
