Newmai News Network Imphal | April 2 The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNC-M) has asked the Liangmai people to stay away from all activities of Zeliangrong organizations. The LNC-M statement came even as the Zeliangrong Baudi is all set to hold “consultative meeting” on April 3 at Jalukie in Nagaland. The LNC-M said that no Liangmai should participate in that meeting. “If anyone chooses to participate in the meeting he/she will do so in his/her individual capacity and shall be answerable to the Liangmai people,” the LNC-M said. In this connection, the LNC-M directed Liangmai frontal organizations to keep a strict vigil and “mark any Liangmai attending the meeting.” Meanwhile, the LNC-M “on behalf of the Liangmai people” expressed profound gratitude to the rank and file of the NSCN-IM for the “remarkable decision” in their recently concluded Tatar Hoho (Parliament of NSCN-IM) to duly acknowledge Liangmai as a Naga tribe. “This historic decision has brought immense joy and a sense of pride in every Liangmai soul which will go down well even in the generations to come,” the LNC-M stated. The Liangmai body also acknowledged the contributions of every Liangmai leader – past and present, Liangmai frontal orgranizations, student and youth organizations, village chiefs/chairmen, political leaders, intellectuals, etc. “in our movement to assert our rightful identity”. The tireless efforts of these leaders for last many years have finally paid off, it stated.
