DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The Office of the Senior Treasury Officer, Dimapur on Monday stated that it is the bounden duty of the Treasury Office to prepare and release pension arrears as per the order and direction of State Government against any ROP of pension/family pension.
In this regard, the state finance department has recently issued order for revision of pay of pension under 7th ROP. However, preparation of revision arrears and necessary release is delayed due to busy engagement of Treasury officials on the Government transaction in lieu of approaching current financial year, a DIPR report stated. It has therefore requested all the pensioners to wait for the time being till the officials are free to deal with the matters. Further with regard to DDPA press release appearing in The Morung Express on March 18, the STO clarified that activities and functioning of the Dimapur District Pensioners Association (DDPA) is outside the preview of Treasury office. Therefore, the issue of collecting Rs. 2000/-, setting up financial expert committee to oversee pension revision financial implication or issuing of ROP forms is DDPA issues, it said.
In this connection, the pensioners have been informed to tie up with the association for necessary information and not to approach Dimapur Treasury Office since the office is ignorant about the matter. Further, it informed the public in general and pensioners in particular that the Treasury Office will not accept any State Government official prescribed forms issued by any associations unless authorized by the Government to do so. Therefore, in this regard the pensioners are made aware of the official norms in dealing with their pension related works, the DIPR report stated.
