Members of Evangelical Union of Kiphire District perform a street play on ‘family planning’ at Kiphire.
Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): With the aim to reach out to the grassroot level and lay emphasis on the ever growing need of the importance of Family Planning, street play was conducted in Kiphire District on May 27 and 28. A press note issued by Kiphire CMO office Media Officer Pezanguno Celine Secü stated that the District IEC teams organized and conducted the street play on the theme “Family Planning” under the supervision of Chief Medical officer, Kiphire.
The play was carried out by the Evangelical Union of Kiphire District comprising of 18 members. The play was performed in Kiphire town and Pungro town. It was of 20 minutes duration. IEC materials, posters, leaflets and pamphlets were distributed.
Family Planning lays emphasis on maintaining the health of the mother and furthering measures for the welfare of the children. It also envisages advice and guidance to those who propose to unite their lives in marriage, assistance toward enabling them to regulate the birth of the children and space appropriately the time gap between the next child born. “With this being the main focus, the play was carried out successfully and so also gathered a huge crowd witnessing the play,” the Media officer added.
