62nd Pfuchatsumia Khel Day celebrated

The 62nd Pfuchatsumia Thinuo (P.Khel) day took place here today at Christ King Ground, Tholeibozou, Kohima Village with ardent call for upholding the existing unity and cooperation among its members as well as with others.
Exhorting the mammoth gathering four speakers- Vilie-o Rutsa President NAPO; Megu-o Mechiilho, ex Chairman P. Khel Council; Neivor Rutsa, Chairman KVC; and Zeneizo Rutsa , P Khel Council Chairman - all in unison stressed upon upholding the unity, support and cooperation among the membersin future activities.
Addressing the gathering, the Northern Angami Public Organization (NAPO) President thanked all the parents and athletics who took part in the recently concluded KVSA meet 2016 and called upon the youth to take it as a challenging factor and take it forward.
Constant practice is required to compete with others in the various levels, he maintained. Apart from engagement in farming, business activities and as employees of different establishments, he said games and sport play a major factor in bridging the livelihood for many.
To this end, the NAPO President further called upon the youth to make the best use of their talents by choosing the correct disciplines, which he said would not only bring fame to them but to the community and ultimately help earn their livelihood.
He also stressed on the need to strengthen the bond of unity and peaceful atmosphere amongst the P. Khel community and set example for others to follow suit.
P Khel Council Chairman Zeneizo Rutsa urged upon the community to strive for excellence in every field to cope with the fast changing world. He called upon the community to uphold the good traditional practices of honesty, sincerity, hardworking etc to keep alive good tradition of the dignity and uniqueness of the Nagas.
On economic front, the Chairman regretted that many people are spending more than what they are earning and exhorted the gathering to reason such factor carefully for a suitable economic standard.
Zeneizo was also appreciative of the apparent conducive atmosphere and unity prevailing amongst the P.Khel community and prayed that such trends would sail forever.
Chairman KVC Neivor Rutsa in his speech said the education is the foundation of everything and felt those educated youth should give their best effort in their works in the search of jobs in government department, adding “We should be positive in our thinking and there are always avenues to get jobs in government set-up”.
Meguo-o Mechiilho, ex Chairman P. Khel Council reiterated that all should strive for their best to be a P Khel and stressed the need to obey and abide by rule of law. Earlier the function was chaired by Meselhoulie Rame, Vice Chairman, P.Khel Council; invocation prayer was given by Keyielie Rutsa, Deacon, Khedi Baptist Church; and welcome address was delivered by Zeneizo Rutsa, Chairman, P.Khel Council. The general secretary and finance secretary report were presented by Dr Khrielie Pienyu and Ba-o Mechiilho respectively while special numbers were presented by PMK Jubilee choir and Pfuchazunuo group.
