While unity could be the bonding between two or more parties coming together in terms on common grounds agreeing some and compromising some for the other and working together for the interest of the both, fraternity is the feeling of oneness in the Naga brotherhood working together not just for the Nagas but for humanity on rational grounds of course. The present generations, be the young or the elders should accept the fact that every Naga has been victimized by the actions of the past. And that we need not necessarily let those events determine our present and the future any longer. Wouldn't it be for the better if we simply accept the reality that our Naga race has been distorted by foreign elements in the past and instead of repeating the same regressive pattern over the "collision in culture", why not we accept the facts, leave and keep what that ought to be and move on because although many were bitter, some turned out to be an 'Art' for our society today.
It is with disappointment one could say that the "Naga Kind" across the world lack the mutual willingness to think and work for the common cause, the hardships and sufferings we Nagas are enduring and to overcome it and to progress ahead and set our foot in the glory of civilization. Every present generation has witnessed it some platform or the other and might have noticed that we are seriously lacking behind them in every sphere of development. It is not that we do not have the capability to achieve the likes of them but without platforms for the people to utilize their potential how can we lay the foundation for civilization.
In order for uplifting the whole Naga society we first have to view each of our present condition and work in peace and try to put effort in developing our respective areas be it the Nagas of Arunachal Pradesh or Burma etc. Here development does not just mean in infrastructural terms but also as in Human Development. We should encourage each other to learn more about how thinks work in the world so that we apply it for our own. It will also be nice if there could be social gatherings of the scholars and the intellectuals, to discuss about the world issues, Human Rights, Global Warming, Waste Management etc. to let participate in our society.
We can promote Fraternity by opening more free Public Parks (zero entry fee) where people could jog, have small family picnics, play frees-bees with their dogs (pets), read books (write books), where everyone could relax and spend their time communicating each other be it in conscious, subconscious or unconscious level. The people should also respect other people's liberty for a clean environment and not litter the spoils in public places. Efforts should be made to provide garbage bins in the parks (at least for then) and finding a conclusive way to dispose off the trash.
With the deficit at hand in our State the government need not have to stress over this. We could make use of already what that exists and if private/public owners could donate their open space lands be it in suburbs or cities for the cause then with it shall begin the start of a new age in Nagaland's voyage to civilization.
In this embodiment of secular, scientific and industrial modernity, we should not just endure but feel. With the world almost on the verge of being altered by ever rising global warming, we have to start ensuring the better chances of survival of the future generations.
