Properties damaged by a strong storm at Naghuto Old and New Village on October 15.
Zunheboto, October 16 (MExN): Rain accompanied by strong storm lashed Naghuto villages damaging properties worth several lakhs.
Sources said rain and storm battered Naghuto Old and New Village at around 10.40 PM last evening for about 20 minutes leaving behind mass devastation but there was no loss of life. Naghuto is under Atoizu Sub-division in Zunheboto district, informed a press release received here.
According to sources, several houses were damaged, trees and plantations and electric polls were uprooted by the ravaging storm. Several paddy fields are also flattened. A government primary school at Naghuto New village was also partly damaged.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Atoizu inspected the villages to take stock of the situation and assess the damages and report to the higher authorities.
