The 63rd Session cum Seminar of the Phek Students Union (PSU) took place today at Phek Village Community Hall with Imlibenla Wati Nienu and Er Nuthozo Hoshi, SDO (Electrical Department) as the inaugural speaker and resource person respectively. The session was held under the theme “Be Rare, Be Extraordinary.”

In her address, v said that failure and success are part and parcel of one’s life. “Only those that tries failed and only those that tries will succeed. Failure taught a person more than success ever does,” she said.

In this, she said, students and youth alike should not be afraid of failure but rather pursue the goals and dreams with dedication, hard work, zeal and determination.

“The leaves, the branches, and the root are all part of a tree. The leaves and the branches move with the wind, changes its colour with the weather but the root remained firmly buried within the ground and kept the tree intact,” she said.

‘Be a torch bearer towards a new era’

Er Nuthozo Hoshi, spoke on the topic “Be a torch bearer towards a new era.”

He remarked that a ‘torch bearer is someone who leads, inspire and set an example for others to follow. Both young and old possessed the ability to be a torch bearer, but to be a torch bearer, he or she has to be someone who holds true to their values and ideals that can inspire other, that other can emulate in their pursuit of their goals.

He maintained that youths are the greatest agents of change in the new era.

Youths are filled with dreams and energy to pursue their goals and aspirations. Youths are the leaders of tomorrow but also the leaders of today and in the age of technological revolution, youths are contributing immensely towards various social issues as they are able to grasp the current happening at the finger tips and work together for solution to the problems which are particularly visible in social media, he said.

In the competitive world, he said, we have to think outside the box, broadened our mindset and horizon and strive for knowledge and skills beyond the classroom teaching.

He said that education is about adding new knowledge to the already existing ones rather than discarding the old values and tradition.

“We are striving for identity, to be someone else inspiration that others can emulate and follow our footsteps. “Do not misuse your free will, use it wisely”, he said.
