Students appointed as ASU Sanitation Ambassador

Kohima, May 19 (MExN): The Angami Students’ Union (ASU), in an effort to promote hygiene especially in Kohima City and with the objective to create awareness to preserve and protect environment, initiated its pilot project under the banner ‘Angami Students’ Union Sanitation Ambassador’.

Under this project, ASU has selected class 6 and 7 students from various schools to be ambassadors of sanitation who will be putting on the ‘ASU Sanitation Ambassador’ badges. The ambassadors, regardless of whether in school or any other place, will promote the concept of sanitation. “The ambassadors will set examples by cleaning the surrounding wherever they go and also request anyone who is littering not to do so,” Visako Rino, President, ASU stated in a press release.

It may be mentioned here that ASU had previously collaborated with the Kohima Municipal Council and initiated the dog pound to free Kohima of the dog menace. The Union also introduced and launched ‘Car Bin’ project with ANTA Kohima and donated car bins to taxis. It further appealed to all vehicle owners to maintain ‘Car Bins’ in their vehicles.

ASU further appeals to every citizen to join hand and work towards a cleaner and better society.
