Students of the Government High School, Chessore protesting against the Nagaland State Government’s failure to post Math and Science teachers in the school. The school was shut down by the joint Students’ Union – comprising of Chessore Town Students’ Union and Chessore Village Students’ Union and endorsed by the Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA). The union in a press note today lamented the “step motherly treatment meted towards the third oldest school in Nagaland by the Department” and maintained that it would not tolerate any lapse which stigmatizes the careers of the students. It cautioned that the school would remain closed until the said teachers are deployed.
