DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 26 (MExN): The Indian women’s boxing team, which recently participated at the3rd International Women’s and Women’s Youth Boxing Tournament Balkan at Sofia, Bulgaria has returned home. The team won 4 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze at the week-long tournament which concluded on October 22. According to a press release, Nitu, who won gold in the 48kg category was adjudged the best boxer of the tournament. The team was led by coach Raffaelle Bergamose alongwith Bhaskar Bhatt, Trideep and Tsungchetrenla Tzudir from Nagaland. The success of the Indian pugilists bodes well for the upcoming World Women’s Youth Boxing Championship to be hosted by Guwahati, Assam from November 19 to 26, the release said. This tournament was again a preparation tournament for the upcoming world championship of youth women boxing to be held at Guwahati, Assam from November 19 to 26, the release added.
