Sumi Hoho calls for retention of COVID-19 patients

Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): Calling for a review of the decision to send COVID-19 positive patients to their respective districts, the Sumi Hoho on May 28 said that it is ready to bring back the returnees to its district, for which they need to have basic required equipment, facilities and manpower first.

The Sumi Hoho thanked the Chief Minister for having personally inspected the condition and capacity of Zunheboto COVID-19 Hospital, where infrastructure, manpower and equipment “is one of the worst in Nagaland.”

In order to accommodate the returnees in the Zunheboto COVID-19 Hospital, the Sumi Hoho demanded the immediate provision of improved infrastructure, ICU facilities, BSL-3 lab and other facilities “like that of Kohima and other well equipped hospitals in the state.”

Until these demands are met, the Sumi Hoho has requested the government to retain all COVID-19 patients in places where facilities are available.
