Sumi Totimi Hoho on anti-liquor offensive

ZUNHEBOTO (MExN): The Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) Zunheboto and the GPRN Zunheboto seized 836 bottles (73 cases) of liquor and some bottles of beer from K. Kughalu Yeptho and Shivito Yeptho, son of Khezhei Yeptho and Vinoto Yeptho, son of Hezheto, all from Khehoi village under Dimapur District. The Liquor was found on a white gypsy bearing registration No. NL-07 – 1346.

The STH (Z) and the GPRN Zunheboto had passed orders following a joint meeting on September 25 which had been signed by Ilhovi Aye, CSD in-charge, GPRN Zunheboto and K. Atoli Sumi, President, STH (Z). According to the STH constitution, a fine of Rs. 20,000 was imposed on K. Kughalu and his accomplices. According to the order, the Gypsy, which is in custody, would be released only after a payment of Rs. 15,000 as fine. A total of Rs. 35,000 was imposed payable before September 30 or else, the vehicle will not be released according to the order.

The STH (Z) and the GPRN Zunheboto in the presence of town elders, District Administration, Town Committee, GB’s and the Police Force gathered in the daily market on the morning of September 26 and destroyed the confiscated liquor bottles. General Secretary, S. Lhogholi Kiho, told The Morung Express that a sum of Rs.14, 650 and a mobile handset was also seized along with the contraband liquor. 

Meanwhile, it was later informed that K. Kughalu and his accomplices along with the vehicle have been released after they paid the imposed fine.
