Sunday School children pray for peace, cleaner Nagaland

Mokokchung, August 6 (MExN): With an aim to invoke God’s blessings on the young children “through their own faith and to manifest the power of prayer,” the Christian Education Ministry of Kumlong Baptist Church (CEM-KBC) organized a ‘Prayer Fellowship’ for young children at the church on Sunday. Children from sixteen different churches and fellowship in Mokokchung Town attended the programme.

A first of its kind in Mokokchung Town, the children prayer fellowship was held from 6-7 am, informed a press release from Moanaro Imchen, Associate Pastor, CEM-KBC. The participants comprised of Sunday School students accompanied by their teachers from the different churches under Mokokchung Town Baptist Churches Mission (MTBCM) and also churches from other tribes/community like Sumi Baptist Church, Sangtam Baptist Church etc.

During the one hour solemn fellowship, the children and the teachers prayed on different prayer points, the release said. They gave thanks and asked for forgiveness from God, prayed for the suffering children in the society and also all over the world who are caught up in conflict, famine, disease etc. The congregation also prayed for peace in our land, for a cleaner Nagaland, for protection of the children from harm’s way and also for good weather conditions, it added.

A special dedicatory prayer and blessing was also invoked by the pastor of KBC, Rev I Lima Jamir.

“Today’s prayer fellowship was held not only to make the children spiritually strong and to enable them to have faith in the great powers of prayer, but also with the deep belief and understanding that the prayers by the young innocent children would be answered by God,” the release stated.
