Support for Model township at Jalukie

• Sir-Based on the news-report carried by The Morung Express dated August 17, the Jalukians once again welcome the decision of Peren District H.Q selection Committee and the possibility of having a District Head Quarter at Jalukie Town.

Their finding is fully supported by us because there is every potentiality for taking up new development with less expenditure. To make a model Township it could be possible only from here at Jalukie.

The landowners are ready to give land as required by the State government. We are indebted and appreciate the present government and the H.Q. site selection Committee’s proposal for their wisdom and genuine decision that could fulfill the dreams and desires of the people.

Among others Lt. L. Lungalang, LT. T.Haralu, Lt. Namgaheing, Lt. N.C. Zeliang, Lt. Namko and D.K. Zeliang with many Naga planners have sacrificed, recommended and established the Head Quarter at Jalukie since 1966 with great future visions for the Zeliangrong people in particular and the Nagas in general.

But it was shifted to Peren again during 1972 after six years as a result of political interference. But we think that it was not a genuine business for them because H.Q is not meant for a particular Village to get advantages but it should be meant for the Nagas, for all the Nagas where all the facilities and potentialities are available.

It was an old saying of our men that if water is tapped out from the Tepuiki River, Jalukie Valley could manage Green Revolution and there would be no water drinking problems for the millions.

Till today, water is found in abundance as every household has ring well, the land is fertile and food grains are being supplied to most part of Nagaland from this area. Now the APMC and UCOS are trying their best to enrich more foods to grow aiming at a ‘Green Revolution” and where most farmers are taking part in it. There is easy conveyance to the State Capital and people are enjoying doing official work at Kohima, Dimapur and coming back home in the evening.

Nagaland is a Christian state though its people may be weak or poor in faith or in justice, the Almighty has been kind to us and must have a plan and chosen the land (for district headquarters) as was the case when bringing out the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan.

In view of the above mentioned facts, we once again extend our gratitude and appreciation to the H.Q. site selection Committee and the present government that we assure our fullest support and cooperation to the government for the proposed model township at Jalukie.
