Zunheboto, JUNE 9 (MExN): The Village Council Court, Surumi Zunheboto District has refuted to the statement made by the Tichipami Village Council on the ‘closure of water sources No-1 of Techighoki tapping to Mokokchung Town’ which was published in some local dailies on June 7. The Council has placed the issue to the Tichipami Village for threatening the Mokokchung public for using tabooed water source and offering them an alternative water source.

“There is an agreement with (PHE Department) to allow water tapping to Mokokchung Town has been made between Sumi-Ao tribe,” Surumi Village Council Chairman H Qheniho GB stated in a rejoinder to the media.
The SVC stated that a case on ownership of Techighoki has been settled by way of oath and now the Tichipami Village is trying to encroach on the land portion illegally by calling it ‘tabooed.’
