Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party has seized drugs suspected to be heroin packed in soap cases on Wednesday.
Giving the information in a press release, T Arilong Longkumer, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur said that on September 29 at around 12:30 pm, the Dimapur District Excise duty party manning Chümoukedima checkgate while on regular checkgate duty intercepted a vehicle (Maruti car) bearing regd. No. AS01X 1169 bound for Kohima.
On frisking the vehicle, the duty party recovered suspected drugs to be that of Heroin packed in 21 numbers of soap cases on a rugsack, he reported.
In this connection, one Rachulo Doulo (45) was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act 1985. The accused has been remanded under judicial custody in the court of the Special Judge NDPS.
The Dimapur District Excise duty party was led by Allen Jami AIE, TK Medom lady/HC, T Khekavi Assumi Head Constable, Constables Akahoto, Thrilise, Thejong, Khalenthong, Tsatongli, Mathna and Sorila.
