Photographic evidence furnished by SVSU highlighting the deteriorating Sitimi - Seyochung road condition even before its completion.
KIPHIRE, MAY 10 (MExN): The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the quality of ongoing road metalling work being carried out by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) between Sitimi and Seyochung in Nagaland’s Kiphire district.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the SVSU alleged that despite prior communication with the concerned department regarding their expectations and concerns, there has been no visible seriousness in the execution of the work and the project lacked of supervision and substandard execution.
According to the SVSU, the road has already begun to degrade even before completion, raising serious questions over the quality of materials used and overall project oversight.
Urging immediate intervention, the SVSU called upon the authorities to take the matter seriously and initiate appropriate action to rectify the irregularities. “The people of this area deserve a proper and safe road. Any negligence in public works must not be tolerated,” the union said.
