Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): Along with the rest of the country, Dimapur district took forward the 100 days campaign under the Swachhata Shramdaan with cleaning of public places and Collection and segregation of Single Use Plastic (SUP) culminating at Dhansiripar HQ Community Hall on September 15.

This was part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrating 75th Years of Independence. 
The event at Dhansiripar was attended by the GBs, Village Council Chairman, WATSAN, Swachhagrahis of three neighboring villages namely Dhansiripar HQ, Dhansiripar village and Amaluma, informed a press release from  Vibou Seyie, IEC Consultant,  PHED Rural division, Dimapur.

The participants were apprised of the components of Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus and the points of focus for the community leaders in achieving the target.  

They were also asked to pass resolutions for ODF sustainability and achieve the targeted need of soak pits at household level, for grey water management during the 100 days campaign, the release said. 

The interaction also focused on eliminating SUP as per the Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules 2021, disallow their littering and the villages to stop open plastic burning.

The programme organised by PHED, Dimapur Rural division, Dimapur was led by Imojungla Longkumer, District Coordinator, District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) and Seyie, Dimapur.
A series of activities are lined up like wall painting, slogan writing on ODF plus component themes at community places to effect behavioral change, retrofitting of toilets etc.
