“You main identity is not your citizenship of your tribe but that you are in the kingdom of God,” Kedo Peseyie, Pastor, City Church Kohima said during the first Christian Music Festival that got underway here today at The Heritage Kohima under the  theme SWAG that stands for “Saved With Amazing Grace” in the kingdom.

“If you are in the kingdom of God, you will always be progressing no matter what people say. You will always be progressing and challenging yourself with new tasks, with something new to learn and always growing in the knowledge of the word,” he noted.

With reference to the Bible, he said that God’s word is the foundation of the kingdom while emphasizing that “the word is the key through which you can open the powers of the kingdom, and the wisdom of God.” Ultimately, he added, “all that we do will pass away, but the thing that will truly last is our spiritual relationship with God” and urged the gathering to work on that.

“Have you secured your place in the kingdom of God? Are you in the kingdom of God?” he also posed while pointing out that the only way to God, the Father is through Jesus who said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Asserting that He is the only way one can secure a place in the kingdom of God, he also dwelt on what it is like to live in the kingdom of God.

“Are you fully surrendered to the rule of Jesus Christ in your life?” he asked while substantiating that, that is what it means to be seeking the kingdom of God.

Further expressing that if they are in the kingdom, the direction of their lives should be “inside out” meaning values like love, joy, peace, kindness, would be flowing out and influencing their families and friends, he also posed, “are you living by the values of the kingdom of God?”

“You may not get popular but that’s the best way to live,” he added.

He reiterated that if one is in the kingdom of God, they would be ever progressing, and growing in their social skills, emotions, and in their knowledge of the word because it is ever progressing. Towards this end, he called upon the gathering to search themselves and if they have moved away from it, he said, “I encourage you to come back and live in the values of the kingdom.”
