Kohima, April 15 (MExN): “Nagas are no less in creativity, be it in film making, photography or in writing, and we can do what others can do, given the opportunity,” said Director, Information & Public Relations, Limawati Ao at the book launch of ‘Sweet Station anyone can bake’ by Jenny Kath Thong at Crossword Kohima on April 14.
A DIPR news report stated that commenting on the cake made with indigenous ingredients, the IPR Director said, “it speaks volume about the book and the unique recipes in the book make it more important and interesting.” He hoped that the book will inspire the upcoming bakers and the younger generation will take up baking to the next level.

‘A world class book written by a Naga and also published and printed from Nagaland, such reason makes us proud to be a Naga,” he remarked while expressing hope that the PenThrill Publication House will bring out such good publications even in the future.
Jenny Kath, author of the book speaking at the event, said that as a working woman, a homemaker and a mother it was difficult for her to give baking lessons to all who wanted to learn baking. That is when she thought of compiling a recipe of all the cakes she had baked over the years and to bring out a book. She added that the book will help women or all those upcoming bakers in their journey of becoming a baker.
She also shared her early years as a baker and how her mother and husband helped her in her journey to becoming a professional baker. She said, “the book is an easy to follow baking book” and she has incorporated a section which uses local ingredients in cake baking.
The author, Jenny Kath Thong is a self taught baker and an alumna of Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) Mumbai and currently working as Rural Development Officer in Department of Rural Development. Her love for baking has resulted in ‘Sweet Station’ a favourite destination for cake lovers. The book will be available in Bible House, Sweet Station and Crossword Kohima. It can also be purchased online.
The program was chaired by Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Asst Professor Kohima College. Pastor RBC Dr Kenny Tsela invoked the gathering and vote of vote of thanks by Daniel Thong. Publisher’s note was delivered by Vishu Rita Krocha Publisher, PenThrill Publication House.
