Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Karnataka defeats Nagaland by 9 wickets

Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): Nagaland continued its poor run in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by losing its fight match on October 23 against Karnataka at Maharana Pratap College Ground, Dehradun.

Karnataka, one of India's cricketing powerhouses, won the match by 9 wickets.

Having lost the toss and being sent in to bat, Nagaland's batters struggled to make headway, losing wickets at regular intervals and ultimately being restricted to a mere 68 runs.

Among the Nagaland batsmen, only Hokaito Zhimomi managed to score 17 runs, while Jaganath Sinivas contributed 11 runs.

Karnataka wasted no time in pursuit of the 69-run target and achieved victory in just 7.5 overs. Devdutt Padikkal scored 31 runs, while Mayank Agarwal and KL Shrijith contributed 19 and 8 runs, respectively, for Karnataka.

Nagaland will face Tamil Nadu, another cricketing powerhouse, on October 27 at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun.

The match will be broadcast live and available on all Jio Applications and the Sports 18 channel from 11 AM.
