The Sechü Zubza Football Club (SZFC) today formally launched its official kit for the upcoming Nagaland Super League 2025.
KKB Rulho, Kovi Meyase, Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, Neivikuolie Nicholas Khatsu, Kekhrie Pfukha, Mengu Suokhrie and other dignitaries launched official kit for SZFC at a programme held at Shalom Bible Seminary, Sechii Zubza.
KKB Rulho and Majena Infra Project are the official sponsors of SZFC with G. Sports and Spectrum Printers as partners.
The official partners include; Footwear, Hummel and Fast & Up as official partners.
Addressing the gathering, Kovi Meyase, secretary, Excise & Prohibition, Govt of Nagaland maintained that NSL signified the coming of age for professional sports for Nagaland.
“It is a giant initiative to bring professional football into our state,” he said.
Stating that SZFC is one of the 7th franchises in the upcoming NSL 2025, he thanked all the sponsors for coming on board to support the team and strengthen NSL.
Further, he extended best wishes to SZFC in all its endeavours and initiatives.
Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president Kohima District Football Association lauded the achievements of SZFC since its formation in 2018.
He thanked the state government for re-introducing Nagaland Super League in the state.
Yhome also made a fervent appeal to Sechii Zubza community and others to fully support SZFC to emerge victorious in the upcoming NSL.
Viketouzo Meyase, Chief Executive Officer of SZFC for NSL informed that SZFC was set up in 2018.
He said that SZFC has decided to join NSL for the first time to “expose ourselves into new horizon” and to achieve more at the bigger platform. We are gearing up to compete with top teams at the NSL, he said.
SZFC consists of a 36 strong squad with some players from Manipur and Meghalaya.
So far, SZFC was the champions of Kohima Football League 2018, Runner-up of KTC Super Cup 2018,
Champions of Classic Cup 2019 (25 edition), Champions of Capt. Kenguruse Football Tournament 2024
(Kohima edition) and champions of 24th NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy 2014.
Earlier, the introduction of SZFC squad for NSL was led by Neidilhoutuo (Neibu) Sechü, Chief Finance
Officer of SZFC for NSL. Other players were introduced by Petevi Meyase, Dr. Khobu Tsolo, Rovikotuo
Yhoshü, Sitsino Liegise, Zayievü Kielienyü and Kekhriesinuo Suokhrie.
Release of SZFC theme song – “The Gayals” was led by Kevisekuo Sechü, Asst. Professor, Margaret
Shishak School of Music, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous).
The programme commenced with a prayer by Javitso Lhousa, Executive Secretary, Western Angami Baptist Church Council.
SZFC will face Red Scars FC in its first match on January 29 at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima at 4:00 PM.
