Kohima, January 25 (MExN): The Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, is undertaking a Creative Arts Immersion Tour to Mumbai from 24 to 26 January 2026.

The delegation brings together representatives from all districts of Nagaland, along with the Chairman and Project Director of TaFMA.

Conceived as a capacity-building and exposure initiative, the immersion tour aims to familiarise district-level representatives with India’s leading creative, cultural, and contemporary arts ecosystems.

Insights and learnings from the visit are expected to further strengthen TaFMA’s ongoing efforts in nurturing music, visual arts, live performance, and creative entrepreneurship across Nagaland.

A key highlight of the programme is the delegation’s visit to Lollapalooza India - one of the world’s largest music festivals.

This year’s edition holds special significance as, for the first time, a band from Nagaland, namely, Trance Effect will be performing at Lollapalooza main stage-marking a historic milestone for the state’s contemporary music journey on a global festival platform.

Members of the TaFMA delegation will be present to support and celebrate the performing band, acknowledging this landmark achievement for Nagaland’s music community.

The visit also will offer first-hand exposure to global standards of large-scale music festivals, including production design, artist programming, technical execution, and audience engagement.

During the tour, the delegation will also visit prominent cultural and public landmarks in Mumbai, including the Jehangir Art Gallery, the Gateway of India, and museums along Marine Drive.

The schedule further includes official interactions and dialogues with renowned artists and practitioners from India’s creative industries. These engagements are intended to facilitate knowledge exchange, explore collaboration models, and gain insights into best practices for managing cultural institutions and live arts platforms.

Speaking about the initiative, TaFMA officials noted that the immersion tour reflects the organisation’s commitment to decentralised cultural development, ensuring district-level representatives gain exposure, insights, and networks that can be translated into meaningful grassroots impact across Nagaland.

The Mumbai immersion forms part of TaFMA’s broader vision to position Nagaland as a vibrant hub for music, arts, and cultural innovation, while safeguarding the state’s unique indigenous heritage and creative identity.
