DIMAPUR, AUGUST 6 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has appealed to the Nagaland State Chief Minister, TR Zeliang to take up the Nagaland Foothill Road Project on “top most priority” as it is “an extraordinary project.”
It stated this while reminding that the former Chief Minister, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu had committed to sending a proposal for the project to the central government.
A press note from the NFHRCC also urged that all issues relating to the Foothill Road project should be “brought to the office of the committee for any kind of clarification and information.”
It meanwhile informed that the committee had a meeting with the Doyang Bridge contractor on July 1, where members deliberated on the non progress of the ongoing works of the bridge and issues related to non sanctioning of funds by the successive governments for both the bridge and the remaining fresh cutting.
“The contractor of Doyang Bridge has reassured the committee as well as the Naga public that he will not abandon the work till completion on any given circumstances and will start the work in the coming working seasons (September-October),” the NFHRCC informed.
