‘Talent is not enough, you have to train, master’

Kohima | January 12 : Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Music Task Force felicitated the winner of MTV Rock On 2010 (Kurkure Desi Beats), Divine Connection at Heritage complex this evening. Addressing the host of musicians, young entrepreneurs and his colleagues, Rio congratulated the winners for their efforts and bringing laurels to the Nagas and conveyed best wishes to Divine Connection.
“Nagas you know, I know, we have inborn talent in singing, but talent is not enough, you have to train, master”, said Rio adding that DAN government has declared 2004-2005, as year of  the youth to give employment opportunity to the youth.
Lauding Music Task Force for their immense effort in creating wider platform for the youth in music, Rio maintained that he is the happiest man with the outcome and achievements of the Nagas, not only locally but in North East as well as Nation. He said that the achievement of the MTV Rock on 2010, is a dream come true. “I am sure, with this laurels, it will encourage our singers and musicians and will grow from strength to strength”.
Reminding the musicians, that DAN government, leaders has a dream and hope when set a policy to give platform, Rio said it is the responsible of the youths to show success to the Nagas and urged to take advantage of the policy/facilities poured upon the Nagas.
He also shared about the successful events that took place at Kolkata the previous year, “Naga Night”, grapping the attention of Nagaland state governor, who urged to conduct the same this February in Delhi where the governor himself initiated to find the chief guest for the night with Indian President, Prime Minister or UPA Chairperson.
“Let us work together to bring laurels to the Nagas, exploit the talents, and let the world know “, said Rio. The chief ministers also donated a sum of Rs. Two lacs to the winner, also Rs. One lacs by MTF, Nagaland.
Divine connection testified their achievement with the help of MTF and the encouragement of chief minister at the initial stage, stating that the seeds chief minister has sowed in 2007 is being harvested by them by winning the MTV national rock on. Mhathung, the bassist also shared their positive and negative experience during the journey of competition. They also performed three of their songs they performed during the competition also their original song 3:45 am.
Earlier, young entrepreneurs, Jumping Bean cafe, Dimapur, Rattle Hum society, Aries music and sound foundation, Ebenezer Band and OFF testified their achievements through the help of MTF.
