Working Committee of the six NNPGs returns after ‘fruitful outcome’
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Working Committee (WC) of the six Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), which signed an agreement with the GoI on November 17, has returned from Delhi. The WC, led by convenor N. Kitovi Zhimomi and co-conveners - FGN Kedallo, Zhopra Vero; secretary NNC (parent body), V. Nagi; NPGN/NNC (NA) Ato Kilonser, Hozheto; president NSCN (R), Wangtin Naga; and NNC/GDRN (NA) president, Kiumukam Yimchungru, were received at the Dimapur airport by a host of civil society members and functionaries of the NNPGs on Sunday.
In a public address at the airport, convenor Zhimomi said that talk was held on the condition “that should foremostly recognise the historical and political rights of the Naga people” and “that the Naga people have the right to self-determine their future in consonance with their unique identity.”
He said the “fruitful outcome of the talks with the government of India” was the result of the Naga people’s continuous prayers and added that God is with the Nagas.
Zhimomi also said that the government of India has positively responded to the desire of the Naga people by stating that the Naga people will not be deprived of their rights and the recognition of the political and historical rights of Nagas.
He called for persistent prayer and working hand in hand for the achieving the desire of the Nagas.
