Talk outlines reform for quality edu. in Nagaland

Kohima, May 13 (DIPR): The programme for the interactive session on quality education in Nagaland, organised by the department of School Education, was held at the Zonal Council Hall, Kohima, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary for Nagaland, Lalthara, on Wednesday. The programme was attended by representatives from the NSF, NBCC, ANSTA, NGOs and senior government officials.

The department stated that the interactive session on quality education was held to verify the authenticity and loyalty of all appointments and to examines files, documents and records of administrative approval for ascertaining authentication and also to identify persons who are involved in processing appointment of teachers through fraudulent means or through misinformation with the intention to appoint candidates without proper sanctioned post.

The Chief Secretary in his welcome address informed that the interactive session was held to address and find solutions to correct the educational system. He stressed on the importance of teacher’s qualification to uplift the standard of education in the state.

Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Banuo Z Jamir, stressed on the need to address the bogus appointment, redeployment of teachers, transfer and posting, and ratio of teacher as per students. She also called for support from the NSF and other organisations.

ANSTA president Kepelhoutuo Chusi also made suggestion for a policy that would ensure that all teachers be selected through a standardised recruitment examination. In the interactive and discussion session, some important suggestions were made by the members present. The programme, chaired by Chief Secretary Lalthara, also included invocation prayer by Education Secretary NBCC, Evangeline Odyuo, and vote of thanks by Director for School Education Nagaland, Nipusilie.
