KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The Tenyimi Central Union (TCU) has expressed its deep appreciation to the Government People Republic of Nagalim (GPRN)/ NSCN (IM) for their “performance, sincerity, co-operation and matured handling of the situation arising out in the Zeliangrong land during the recent past”. The union in a press note issued by Z.M. Sekhose President, TCU appreciated the GPRN particularly, for their wise decision and the subsequent action to protect and preserve the rich flora and fauna of the Intangki Reserved Forest for the benefit of future generation. “The GPRN decision although has come out as expected, the union also appreciate the GPRN for clearly differentiating the encroachers from the actual and rightful landowners while enforcing and implementing its decision and wish them to apply the same wisdom even in future”, the TCU stated.

The union further expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the Chairman of the National Socialist Council Nagalim, Isak Chishi Swu for responding to the genuine demand of the Zeliangrong Baudi and also to the appeal of the Tenyimi Central Union and withdrawing the earlier appreciation and acknowledgement letter issued to Shikavi village for purportedly donating the land presently occupied by GHQ and Demolition Wing of the GPRN. “Such wise and mature decision of the GPRN will have its impact in the ongoing Naga political peace talk as well as in ushering peace and tranquility amongst the Naga brethren in the long run”, it stated.

Taking all the developments into consideration, the Tenyimi Central Union had already advised its constituent unit, the Zeliangrong Baudi to vacate and recall its earlier decision for non-cooperation with the GPRN.
