
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 3 (MExN): The Tobu Area Students’ Union (TASU) initiated its first phase of public consultation from January 28 – February 3, 2019 with stake holders of four villages namely Monyakshu, Pessao, Yongkhao and Tamkoang regarding the school adoption program under Teach for Tobu initiative.
During the consultation, the union interacted with VEC, Village Council and students’ union from the four villages wherein it was agreed that the stakeholders would extend their cooperation towards the TASU for successful implementation of the adoption program, a press statement issued by TASU informed on Sunday.
The TASU also made inspection and site visits at the proposed school and issues such as shortage of desk and benches, shortage of teachers, poor infrastructure, high dropout rates of the students, irregularities of the teachers were identified and the same was also discussed with the stakeholders.
Under the school adoption program, the union through community mobilization will undertake improvement and renovation of school buildings, construction of benches, desk and fencing around the school campus, development of school garden and enrollment of students at the class.

The second phase of consultation will be held with the teaching staff of four villages from 11 February 11-February 16, 2019 after which formal launching program will be initiated during the last week of February.
In this regard, all the teachers have been requested to be present at their area of posting failing which the union would be compelled to file complaints to the DEO Mon for initiating further course of action.
