Kohima, December 16 (MExN): A one-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme aimed at strengthening inclusive teaching practices in vocational education was held at Bumblebee Inclusive School, Kohima on December 16.

The programme, titled “From Awareness to Action: Inclusive Teaching Strategies for Vocational Education,” was organised by Lend A Hand India in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, under a CSR project of LIC Housing Finance Limited.

It was facilitated by inclusive education expert Kopele Tepa, an inclusive education expert and founder of the Bumblebee Inclusive School, Kohima. Six vocational trainers from four Swadheen Direct Implementation Schools across Kohima, Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts participated.

The sessions focused on understanding different types of disabilities and practical teaching methodologies, with an emphasis on the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to create equitable learning environments.

Discussions highlighted the importance of enabling all students, including those with disabilities, to access meaningful skill-based education. The programme concluded with a collective commitment from the trainers to implement the strategies in their classrooms.
