Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): A temporary jail/detention centre has been set up at the old ADC office in Tseminyu in anticipation of any situation subsequent to the promulgation of curfew in parts of the district under section 144 CrPC, 1973, in pursuance to section 541 of the code of criminal procedure 1882 (10 of 1882). This was informed in a press release from the state DIPR received here on Friday.
As per the release, the Tseminyu Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Dr Zasekuolie Chusi held a consultative meeting with the District Executive Force, which the decision was taken. “Two rooms in the old ADC office are designated as temporary Jail/Detention centre to augment the holding capacity/strength of the Lock-up at Tseminyu police station. This order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force till further notice,” the release stated.
