Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): The Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) has welcomed the passage of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on September 3, expressing hope that it will pave the way for equitable development across the state.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, TUN President K T Vilie and General Secretary Khriehuzo Lohe stated that the legislation is expected to boost infrastructure and essential public services in Eastern Nagaland, particularly in the road and communication network, education, and healthcare sectors.
Urging the local populace to fully utilise the upcoming provisions, the Union noted its hope that the people of Eastern Nagaland avail of these facilities "in letter and in spirit to fulfill the long-time aspirations of the people."
The apex tribal body extended its sincere appreciation to the Central Government for approving the initiative, as well as to the Nagaland State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio for its consistent support.
Extending its solidarity, the TUN further wished the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) and the people of the region a successful journey in their continued efforts to establish lasting peace and development.
