
Chümoukedima, October 29 (MExN): The Cooperative Training Centre (CTC), Department of Cooperation in collaboration with Tetso College, Chümoukedima organised a seminar on Cooperative Movement at Tetso College on October 29.
The seminar was sponsored by the National Cooperative Union of India, New Delhi, Ministry of Cooperation and it aimed to promote cooperative entrepreneurship, informed a press release received here.
The targeted audiences for the session were the final year youths of the colleges, the chairperson of the seminar was Kegwahi Kent, Lecturer CTC Medziphema, and the keynote address was delivered by Chubamenla, Principal, CTC. She emphasized the state’s startling unemployment rate and the ways in which the cooperative business model provides alternatives founded on self-reliance and self-help. In a succinct speech, Dr. Rosy Tep, vice-principal of Tetso College, discussed how Naga society has been a vital component of their collective cooperation and how such a movement will greatly aid in the state’s economic growth.
The program was further divided into three technical sessions, where Bokato Hesso, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies shared his insights on Cooperative Movement in Technical Session. Rokovisa Chase, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies highlighted on Cooperative Entrepreneurship and the success stories of cooperatives that have availed benefit from registering their unit as “cooperatives”.
Akangjongshi Chang, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, took over the last technical session and focused on the potential and potential pitfalls of entrepreneurship in Nagaland. A question-and-answer session among the participants concluded the programme.
