
Tseminyu, April 24 (MExN): Tesophenyu Group Public Union (TGPU), Central has condemned the alleged “brutal physical assault and seriously hurting” one person of Tseminyu on April 18 night at Tseminyu town.
TGPU President, Phanishe Chung and Vice President, Kenneth Woch in a press release cautioned that “whoever has committed the crime cannot escape and should not try to escape but should surrender and admit the crime in the interest of all.” It appealed to the law enforcing agency to apprehend the culprit at the earliest and punish the culprit to give justice to the victim.
It also condemned the reported “barbaric act of a group of Tseminyu youth for looting cash, vandalising the house and property” a person of Tesophenyu village at Tseminyu town on April 19 following the April 18 night incident allegedly “on the ground of suspicion that some of his family members or acquaintances has committed the crime of physical assault on one of its member.”
“It was learnt that the crime was under investigation when a group of Tseminyu youth resorted to violence. The violent action and high headedness of a group of Tseminyu youth is crime and deserved to be condemned,” it stated. “The union felt that under any circumstances taking law into one's own hand cannot be tolerated and demand to the law enforcing agency to apprehend the youths involved in the crime.”
TGPU stated that the law enforcing agency sensing ‘the April 18 night incident might escalate situation imposed 144 CrPC on April 19 morning.’ “However the youths of Tseminyu were allowed to gather and move in mass leading to the incident of vandalism” it alleged. Therefore, TGPU has condemned the action of the law enforcing agency of the District and appealed to the concerned authority to investigate the matter and take disciplinary action against erring officers and personnel.
Meanwhile, Tseminyu Students’ Union (TSU) has condemned the alleged “inhumane, physical assault and an attempt to murder” meted out on its senior leader and member on April 18 at Tseminyu town.
TSU President, Shyeruhun Tep in a press release stated that the union is “anguished over such barbaric acts caused by some antisocial elements in an area filled with students and educational institutions close by.” Further, TSU has appealed to the law enforcing agencies to immediately arrest and punish the unwanted antisocial elements so that peace and normalcy will return to Tseminyu town at the earliest.
