In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 and in an attempt to contain its spread, the Thahekhu Village Council has resolved to enforce certain restrictions within the village.

• Prohibits entry of ‘unknown people’ from July 24
• Prohibits non-essential movements after 2:00 pm
• Face masks and social distancing protocol compulsory
Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 and in an attempt to contain its spread, the Thahekhu Village Council (TVC) in a meeting held on July 22 has resolved to enforce certain restrictions within the village.
The TVC in a press release stated that of late, Thahekhu village has become an ideal place for morning walks and jogging and it has been observed that people both young and old from other surrounding areas enter the village for such and other sports activities. Therefore, in the interest of public safety, the TVC has prohibited the entry of ‘unknown people’ for the about mentioned activities within the village jurisdiction, with effect from July 24.
Further the TVC strictly prohibits non-essential movements within the village jurisdiction after 2:00 pm as per Government SOP and guidelines.
It also asked the residents to wear face masks compulsorily and to strictly adhere to the social distancing norms. “Anyone caught violating the mentioned restrictions shall be penalized as per the National Disaster Management Act 2005,” the council added.
