Thahekhu Village resolves to guarantee safety of citizens

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 19 (MExN): Consequent to the factional clash which took place on September 6, 2012 at the heavily populated residential area of Thahekhu Village, Block No-5, the GBs of the village, the village council and village elders at an emergency meeting held on 06-09-12 and 08-09-12 adopted the following resolutions which was approved by the general public of the village at a general public meeting on the 16/09/12, 02:00 pm at the Thahekhu Memorial Hall. 

A four point resolution was adopted, informed a press note issued by Hovito Aye, GB, Thahekhu Village, Hukiye T Yeputhomi, Hd GB, Thahekhu Village, Heloto K Anche, Secretary, Thahekhu Village Council and K Kakheho Yeputhomi, Chairman Thahekhu Village Council.

It was resolved that setting up of office or camp within the village jurisdiction by any underground faction shall not be permitted. Further any individual/faction/group found disturbing the peace and tranquil of the village by unlawful assembly, non-compliance to, or dishonouring/disregard for the laws of the village, provoking trouble and unwanted incidences to the detriment of the village by movement of armed cadres with mala fide intentions within the village shall be viewed as anti-social/anti-village. They shall be held purely responsible and accountable for any casualty or damage as a result.

All the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) holders of the village or applicants shall be required to compulsorily sign an “Allegiance Bond” assuring their loyalty, character, adherence to and respect for the village and its laws. Any Temporary Resident Certificate (TRC) holder or Rent Dweller/Tenant found involving in unlawful/illegal activity shall be ordered to vacate the village immediately without further notice.

According to the press note, these urgent measures had to be taken for the welfare and safety of citizens who have been greatly disturbed by the outrageous actions of the concerned individuals/factions which had endangered the lives of the innocent civilians and caused damage to their properties, it was stated. All concerned have been urged to take serious note of the above mentioned for peaceful co-existence.
