DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 4 (MExN): Veteran Congress flag-bearer and former Chief Minister, SC Jamir speaking at the declaration ceremony of SI Jamir on February 4 lambasted the Neiphiu Rio-led NPF government for what he termed as failing on their promises to solve the protracted Naga political problem. “By all means, at all costs, the DAN government must go,” said Jamir, while adding that the alliance has failed to fully understand the complexity of the issue.
He said that when the DAN alliance first came to power it had promised to solve the problem while acting as facilitators. “(But) where is the solution?” he questioned. While stating that without unanimity there can be no solution, he said that the alliance have only cheated the Naga public in its 10-year rule, and at the same time has bluffed the underground groups.
“The Central government has lost confidence in Rio’s government because they’re a cheating government.” “If we’ve to resolve the problem, we require a party who can deliver the goods to the people.” “Insecurity of life and property”, according to Jamir has been the greatest contribution of the NPF-led government and which in the process “have sown the seeds of fear psychosis in the minds of the people.” On the other hand, the Congress has got the answers to the problems, he said.
