‘The Coffee Challenge:’ A webinar on harnessing Nagaland’s coffee potential

DIMAPUR, JULY 5 (MExN): Understanding the potential of Nagaland in producing one of the world’s finest Coffee, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with the Department of Planning & Coordination and Land Resources is organizing a webinar on ‘The Coffee Challenge – Opportunities, Development and Production Planning in Nagaland’ on July 7 at 11:00am.


A press release from C Merenla, Chairperson, CII Nagaland State Council & MD, Fine Windows Company informed that the webinar aims to create awareness on the potentiality and basic knowledge on coffee plantation & its market in Nagaland. 


The conclave is also to initiate creating a forum for coffee farmers where they can update themselves time to time. It will also focus on showing ways and means to market their produce both nationally and internationally and to create awareness on quality product to be at par with international standards.


Expert panelists from different parts of India and abroad along with representative from Coffee Board of India are scheduled to take part in the Webinar.


The panelists in the list are -  Dr Tasveem Ahmed Shoeeb, Jt Director, Coffee Board of India, Guwahati; PP Choudhury, Dy Director, Coffee Board of India, Jorhat; Nishan R Gujner, Managing Partner, Sethuraman Estate (Kaapi Royale) Karnataka; Ashok Kurian, Coffee Entrepreneur; Dr Pieter, CEO, Noble Cause, Cape Town,  South Africa; Puvil Kikhi, Dy Director, Land Resources Dept, Government  of Nagaland; and Dr Aotoshi, Past Chairman, CII Nagaland State council, Member CII North East Council & CEO, Echahaba Tea.


Neiba Kronu, Minister, Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue, Parliamentary Affairs, Govt of Nagaland will grace the Webinar as the Guest of Honour.
